We have moved into my parents' house. They will be submitting their papers to go on a mission for our church in a few months so we will be living here while they are gone. I am so grateful to them for being generous and kind enough to let us live here. My mom has rearranged her whole house to accommodate us and our stuff. I am so grateful that my boys get to live with them under the same roof. I know they're too young to really have lasting memories of this time but I know that they'll benefit from my mom and dad's wonderful spirits and examples of kindness and love. It's wonderful to live by family again. We had Sunday dinner tonight and it was wonderful to watch both my boys' sheer delight in being around their cousins. William followed the big boys everywhere and thought he was in heaven playing Legos with them. Fritz was loving all the kisses and being held and snuggled by just about everyone. And David and I loved sitting out on the patio and talking to my siblings until the sun went down while our children played on the grass in this lovely weather. I'm glad we moved here at this time of year before it gets too hot. It makes it just a little bit easier.
a home for my heart
We are officially Arizona residents. I'll be honest - there's a pit in my stomach and an ache in my heart every time I stop and realize that we're not driving "back home" to San Diego in a week after visiting family. I left my heart in San Diego - it's split between friend's houses, favorite restaurants, my sweet little house, the beach, the zoo, the beautiful hikes and drives along the coast. San Diego is truly my "dream" place to live and I pray every day that we can move back in a couple of years but for now I am focusing on the blessings that we have. I can't be too sad because I am so blessed in the important things. I have a wonderful husband who has a great job that allows me to stay home and raise my beautiful, sweet, healthy children. I have amazing parents and supportive siblings near by that I am so excited to be living close to again. I have a healthy body, faith in God, and too many blessings to count (including technology so I can stay in touch with my dear friends that I've left in SD). Every time I count my blessings, I feel this intense humility and always remember that I have so much to be thankful for.
